RetroStudio is a recreation of the classic Roblox Studio where you can create your own games based on the 2009 - 2015 era of Roblox and publish them to the game page for others to play. You can select a time period for your game in the Build section and this will change how your game looks and works.
Unlike RETROBLOX's Premade games by Developers, in RetroStudio there's user-made games which can be created by anyone, these are in the Games page when you join RetroStudio. These games take place in older versions of Roblox ranging from early 2009 - mid 2015. There is also a home page with your recently played games, favorites, player stats, and friends list. There is also an update log that shares information about each new update. Then there's the Avatar section where you can customize your avatar with certain accessories. The Catalog has an array of accessories and clothing used to design your character to your liking. Then there is the profile searcher where you can search for the username or user ID of a player, this shows the games made by this user, the badges they earned, and player stats. (join date, last online date, retrobux, user ID).

11/21: Bugs were fixed, and there are now pages in the catalog.
12/21: An update happened where custom symbols were not allowed in titles (to prevent bypassing the ROBLOX filter).
12/25: A christmas theme released, And the RetroStudio Holiday Games 2022 event released.
In 2023, RetroStudio hit 50 million visits.
6/28-29 RetroStudio got hacked by Beyond 5D and an unknown hacker (perhaps still 5D?) The first time it happened, games got overridden by the 5D map. The 5D map had red fog and a dark ambience with some signs showing Beyond 5D's ego. (He's really that petty, isn't he?) The second time it happened, games still got overridden.
7/18, the game’s вампир Update (English: Vampire Update) released, hosting random Dracula games as “events”. Random players were wearing a Dracula mask. In addition, these players were speaking Russian. That was due to a trend on social media platform TikTok, on Russia’s end, with Russians (and probably others) that this trend was funny, causing chaos to ensure.
8/19, Protests Against the Formerly upcoming Roblox Marketplace policy Started.
2/15 2024, The ability to add limbs of different packages with each other was added and you can now use gears that were previously restricted to a package.

RetroStudio Shutdown Incident | May 24th, 2022 - June 1st, 2022[]
In May 24th, 2022, RetroStudio was shut down by Roblox for an unknown reason, for the second time (it also happened December 13, 2021). If a user goes to ReDirect, it shows a teleport error.
On May 8th, 1:45 AM EST, crazyblocks234 on twitter: "there was a user who joined a game that a friend of mine made (..) and was saying that he was going to make RETROSTUDIO "go under review" and also said that he knew an admin." On May 28th, 2022 crazyblocks said "It wasn't taken down because of them, I can almost definitely guarantee that."
On May 26th, 9:11 AM EST, crazyblocks234 had stated, "We are working towards a solution regarding RETROSTUDIO. Thank you for your patience thus far."
On May 27th, 4:40 AM EST, Cristiano100 stated "The game was NOT shut down because of inappropriate or copyrighted content."
On May 28th 2022, 4:40 AM crazyblocks234 stated "We wouldn't make the game unplayable (certainly not for three days) just to make an update, big or small."
On May 28th 2022, 11:52 AM, crazyblocks said "We can't just simply 'reopen' RETROSTUDIO, because ROBLOX is responsible for putting it under review. We're trying to get the game back up as soon as possible, so please be patient with us until then."
On May 29th 2022 12:32 PM, Cristiano100 stated "The game isn't down forever".
Later on June 1st, 9:06 PM EST, RetroStudio was re-opened on Roblox and players can now play the game again.
RetroStudio Shutdown Incident 2 | June 28th, 2023 - June 29th, 2023 [UTC+3][]
Games that got overridden by (probably) Beyond 5D on 6/28 and 6/29 of 2023.
In June 28th, 2023, a person by the name of Beyond 5D discovered a vulnerability in RetroStudio which made him turn every popular game into whatever he wanted it to be. RetroStudio got temporarily privated to sort out the problem. The name of the game changed into "RetroStudio [be back soon!] Later in the day, RetroStudio went public again. The name changed into "RetroStudio [we're back!]
In June 29th 2023, Before the Second shutdown, BT45 had raided the Retro Dev Discord Server and claimed that he would abuse the same vulnerability to overwrite games. In a few hours after the raid and him getting banned, some games got turned into a map that looks very similar to 9/11. Then, the game has been shutdown again to resolve the problems. On the early hours of June 29th, 2023, The name of RetroStudio changed from "we're back!" to "[be back soon [again]]". 2 hours after the initial blackouts, RetroStudio became public again. The name is now "RetroStudio [we're back again!]"
It is unknown to this day if BT45 was the person who overwritten the games or Beyond_5D
At multiple times during 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM [EST] RetroStudio has been shutdown for a couple of seconds and on again.
Before it went down for the third time, a game called "RetroStudio is back party" was created. After a while of the game being up, a hacker would show all the players there creepy (but not scary) images of Mario saying weird things, Later Developers would use the same mario images to troll people in RetroStudio. After about 5-10 minutes RetroStudio was once again shutdown. Many people in the server called it "The Mario Incident".
On June 29 2023, 7:23 PM [EST], pwnnzor posted a group shout "Dear fellow RetroStudio users, I have been shocked and dismayed to tell you RetroStudio has been down for half a second. This depressing realization means that yes, RetroStudio is now lost media.". On, 8:08 PM [EST], the game has been taken down once again. On 8:15 PM [EST], the game's name has been changed to "RetroStudio [be back soon [again [again]]]". On 8:19 PM [EST], the game's name has been changed to "RetroStudio [we're back again]", though it was still shutdown. On 8:25 [EST], the game's name rechanged back into "RetroStudio [be back soon [again [again]]]".
On June 29th, 2023, 8:59 PM [EST], RetroStudio officially returned to Roblox, fully recovered. On 9:02 [EST], RetroStudio changed its name to RetroStudio [We're back! [again [again]]]
